Sie geh\u00f6rt zu den gr\u00f6\u00dften Kirchen der Welt und z\u00e4hlt seit 1987 zum UNESCO-Weltkulturerbe.<\/p>\n<h3>Ereignisreiche Geschichte<\/h3>\n<p>Urspr\u00fcnglich stand an der Stelle der heutigen Kathedrale eine Moschee mit dem aus Backstein gemauerten Giralda-Turm als Minarett. Nachdem die Christen Sevilla zur\u00fcckerobert hatten, nutzten sie zun\u00e4chst den vorhandenen Bau als Kirche. Im 15. Jahrhundert wurde dieser dann schlie\u00dflich abgerissen und durch die <strong>sp\u00e4tgotische Kathedrale<\/strong> ersetzt. Nur der Giralda blieb als Glockenturm erhalten.<\/p>\n<h3>Sch\u00e4tze der Kirche<\/h3>\n<p>Im Inneren der Kathedrale k\u00f6nnen Sie die Schatzkammer und die k\u00f6nigliche Kapelle besichtigen. Au\u00dferdem befindet sich hier das <strong>Grabmal von Christopher Kolumbus<\/strong>. M\u00f6glicherweise kommt daher die Bezeichnung Goldturm. Eine andere Theorie ist, dass die Kacheln \u00fcber den Fenstern einst in der Sonne golden gl\u00e4nzten.
