Auch im Inneren finden sich einige spektakul\u00e4re Sch\u00e4tze. So ist hier der gr\u00f6\u00dfte handgekn\u00fcpfte Teppich der Welt ausgestellt, der ganze 5.400 m\u00b2 gro\u00df ist. Ebenfalls h\u00e4ngt der weltweit gr\u00f6\u00dfte Kronleuchter in der Moschee.<\/p>\n<h3>Ein noch junges Meisterwerk<\/h3>\n<p>Der Bau an der Scheich-Zayid-Moschee begann 1996, die <strong>Er\u00f6ffnung war erst 2007<\/strong>. Sie wurde mit vier Minaretten, 83 Kuppeln und \u00fcber 1.000 S\u00e4ulen ausgestattet. Umringt von zahlreichen modernen Wolkenkratzern beherbergt es heute ein Museum, in dem St\u00fccke aus der gesamten Region des Persischen Golfes ausgestellt sind.<\/p>\n<h3>Symbolischer Geburtsort von Abu Dhabi<\/h3>\n<p>An der Stelle des Qasr al-Hosn entstand einst die erste feste Siedlung Abu Dhabis. Das Geb\u00e4ude stammt aus den 60er Jahren des 18. Jahrhunderts. Urspr\u00fcnglich diente es als <strong>Wachturm<\/strong> und zur Orientierung f\u00fcr Seefahrer, f\u00fcr die das teilweise mit Muscheln bedeckte Geb\u00e4ude schon von weitem sichtbar war.<\/p>\n<h3>Heimat der Herrscherfamilie<\/h3>\n<p>Ende des 18. Jahrhunderts zog die Herrscherfamilie Al Nahyan ins Qasr al-Hosn ein und lebte dort bis in die 1960er Jahre.
