Hier liegen die Regierungsgeb\u00e4ude und die Kathedrale von Cienfuegos, sowie das Teatro Tom\u00e1s Terry, ein prachtvoller Kolonialbau. Auch die wundersch\u00f6ne Meerespromenade der Hafenstadt kann sich sehen lassen. Bei so viel Sch\u00f6nheit \u00fcberrascht es nicht, dass die Innenstadt seit 2005 zum UNESCO-Weltkulturerbe geh\u00f6rt.<\/p>\n<h3>Reich durch Zuckerhandel<\/h3>\n<p>Wie auch Trinidad verdankte Cienfuegos seinen Reichtum vor allem dem Zuckerhandel. Zeitweise befand sich hier der <strong>gr\u00f6\u00dfte Hafen f\u00fcr Zuckerexporte<\/strong> in alle Welt. Tats\u00e4chlich spielen Zucker und Tabak bis heute eine gro\u00dfe Rolle f\u00fcr die Industrie in Cienfuegos. Die Waffen aus diesem Zug erm\u00f6glichten es ihnen, erfolgreich in Havanna einzuziehen und die Revolution zu ihrem siegreichen Ende zu f\u00fchren. Noch heute stehen die <strong>originalen Zugwaggons<\/strong> in Santa Clara, mit einer Ausstellung \u00fcber ihre historische Bedeutung im Inneren.<\/p>\n<h3>Letzte Ruhest\u00e4tte<\/h3>\n<p>Im Jahr 1988 wurde das riesige Mausoleum im Westen von Santa Clara eingeweiht. Die sterblichen \u00dcberreste von Che Guevara wurden jedoch erst 1997 hierher \u00fcberf\u00fchrt, zu seinem 30. Todestag. Dar\u00fcber hinaus beheimatet das Mausoleum eine <strong>Ausstellung zu Guevaras Leben<\/strong> und eine \u00fcberlebensgro\u00dfe Statue auf dem Dach.
