Mit einer Breite von 1.708 Metern gelten die Victoria Falls als breitester, durchgehender Wasserfall der Welt. <\/p>\n<p>Bei einem solchen Ma\u00df an Superlativen wundert es nicht, dass die Victoriaf\u00e4lle seit 1989 zum <strong>Weltnaturerbe der UNESCO<\/strong> z\u00e4hlen. Absolutes Highlight dieser Naturkulisse bilden die weltbekannten Yosemite Falls. Kein Wunder: Mit einer H\u00f6he von 739 Metern gilt der Wasserfall als <strong>h\u00f6chster in ganz Nordamerika<\/strong> und verzeichnet auf Instagram mehr als 160.400 verlinkte Beitr\u00e4ge. <\/p>\n<p>Der Lauf der Yosemite Falls teilt sich in die <strong>435 Meter hohen Upper Falls, die 206 Meter hohen Middle Cascades und die 98 Meter hohen Lower Falls,<\/strong> die schlie\u00dflich in den Merced River m\u00fcnden. Instagram-Beitr\u00e4gen<\/strong> unter dem Hashtag #niagarafalls nicht nur als bekanntester Wasserfall in Nordamerika, sondern auch als fotogenster. <\/p>\n<p>Das Besondere: Bei den Niagaraf\u00e4llen handelt es sich eigentlich um <strong>drei Wasserf\u00e4lle.<\/strong> Die American Falls und Bridal Veil Falls z\u00e4hlen ausschlie\u00dflich zur US-amerikanischen Seite, wohingegen die Grenzen beider Staaten durch die Horseshoe Falls verlaufen. <\/p>\n<p>Unter Touristen gelten die Horseshoe Falls als besonders beliebt. Kein Wunder: W\u00e4hrend die Niagaraf\u00e4lle auf der US-amerikanischen Seite nur maximal 34 Meter hoch sind, erreichen sie auf kanadischer Seite immerhin <strong>eine Freifallh\u00f6he von 57 Metern.<\/strong> Auch die Schlucht der Horseshoe Falls ist mit 670 Metern mehr als doppelt so lang wie die der American Falls. <\/p>\n<div class=\"tipp_center\"><strong>Unsere Reiseexpertin Sandra Lechner war vor Ort:<\/strong> \u201cDie Niagaraf\u00e4lle sind ein echtes Naturspektakel. Eine Fahrt mit der Maid of the Mist Tour ist ein Muss, denn nur so bekommt man das volle Ausma\u00df der gewaltigen Wassermassen hautnah zu sp\u00fcren. \u00dcbrigens: \u00dcber die Rainbow-Bridge k\u00f6nnen auch Fu\u00dfg\u00e4nger zwischen den L\u00e4ndern hin und her spazieren. Bevor Besucher den m\u00e4chtigen Wasserfall besichtigen k\u00f6nnen, m\u00fcssen sie eine <strong>zwei- bis dreit\u00e4gige Wanderung auf dem Milford Track<\/strong> in Kauf nehmen. <\/p>\n<p>Doch der 53 km lange Marsch lohnt sich, denn mit einer H\u00f6he von 580 Metern gilt der Sutherland Wasserfall als <strong>h\u00f6chster freifallende Wasserfall in ganz Ozeanien.<\/strong>  <\/p>\n<p>Ausgangspunkt des m\u00e4chtigen Wasserfalls ist der Lake Quill, dessen Wasserspiegel in Folge schmelzender Fjorde stetig steigt. Dementsprechend l\u00e4sst sich der Sutherland Wasserfall <strong>vor allem im neuseel\u00e4ndischen Sommer<\/strong> (europ\u00e4ischer Winter) bewundern. Doch etwa <strong>1,6 km n\u00f6rdlich von Taupo<\/strong> passieren die Wassermassen eine enge Schlucht aus Vulkangestein, in der der 100 Meter breite Waikato River auf 15 m verengt wird. <\/p>\n<p>Das Ergebnis sind die ber\u00fchmt ber\u00fcchtigten Huka Falls: Pro Sekunde st\u00fcrzt sich hier der Waikato River mit durchschnittlich <strong>220.000 Litern Wasser<\/strong> 11 Meter in die Tiefe. Bei einem solch m\u00e4chtigen Naturspektakel wundert es nicht, dass unter dem Hashtag #hukafalls bereits 70.600 Instagram-Beitr\u00e4ge zu finden sind. Damit sind die Huka Falls mit Abstand der fotogenste Wasserfall von Ozeanien. <\/p>\n<p>Die besten Fotos der Stromschnellen lassen sich \u00fcbrigens von einer <strong>Br\u00fccke \u00fcber dem Fluss<\/strong> schie\u00dfen. Wer noch etwas weiter wandert, gelangt au\u00dferdem zu zahlreichen Aussichtspunkten, die einen ausgezeichneten Blick auf den Wasserfall bieten.<\/p>\n<div class=\"tipp_center\"><strong>Unsere Reiseexpertin Julia Staskowiak war vor Ort:<\/strong> \u201cUm das Ausma\u00df der Huka Falls zu realisieren, empfiehlt sich eine einst\u00fcndige Wanderung entlang des Waikato River. W\u00e4hrend der Fluss zu Beginn noch breit und ruhig ist, beginnen die Wassermassen nach und nach zu tosen, bis das Wasser schlie\u00dflich in die Tiefe rauscht. Mit einer H\u00f6he von 24 Metern ist er mit Abstand der bekannteste. <strong>Nach einem kniffligen 30-min\u00fctigen Aufstieg<\/strong> erreichen Abenteurer die Middle Bouma Falls, die mit 15 Metern schon deutlich kleiner sind. Nach weiteren 20 Minuten Wanderung \u00fcber einen matschigen Waldweg kommen G\u00e4ste zu den doppell\u00e4ufigen Upper Bouma Falls, die gerade einmal 10 Meter hoch sind. Zusammen bilden sie die Tavoro Falls.<\/p>\n<p>Die Wanderung zu den Tavoro Falls gilt teilweise als <strong>so gef\u00e4hrlich,<\/strong> dass Entdecker den Weg besser nicht allein beschreiten sollten. Zudem muss sich jeder Reisende im Besucherzentrum anmelden. Bei so viel Abenteuer wundert es nicht, dass die Wasserf\u00e4lle auf Instagram nur 267 Beitr\u00e4ge z\u00e4hlen und dementsprechend noch als Geheimtipp gelten. <\/p>\n<div class=\"tipp_center\"><strong>Einfach abtauchen!<\/strong> Alle Wasserf\u00e4lle m\u00fcnden jeweils in ein Wasserbecken, das zu einem Sprung ins k\u00fchle Nass einl\u00e4dt.
