Egal, wie oft man sich die beeindruckenden Bilder des <strong>Lake Hillier<\/strong>, der sich vor der K\u00fcste des Ortes Esperance auf <strong>Middle Island<\/strong> befindet, ansieht \u2013 der See ist und bleibt leuchtend pink. Egal zu welcher Jahreszeit und egal unter welchen Witterungsbedingungen. Und genau das macht ihn zu einem <strong>einzigartigen Ausflugsziel<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Denn es gibt mehrere pinkfarbene Seen auf der Welt. So etwa im Senegal den <strong>Retba-See<\/strong> (auch Lac Rose genannt) oder aber nur wenige Kilometer vom Lake Hillier entfernt den <a rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\" href=\"http:\/\/www.australia.com\/de-de\/places\/wa\/pink-lake.html\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Pink Lake<\/strong><\/a>. <\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Anders als Lake Hillier f\u00e4rben sich diese Seen aber nur unter ganz bestimmten Lichtverh\u00e4ltnissen und Wetterbedingungen rosa. Wissenschaftler konnten dies auf ein Zusammenspiel von Algen und Bakterien zur\u00fcckf\u00fchren. Warum Lake Hillier ein dauerhaft <strong>pinker See<\/strong> ist, ist bis heute nicht eindeutig gekl\u00e4rt.<\/p>\n<h3>Was sorgt f\u00fcr die pinke Farbe?<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Es wird davon ausgegangen, dass Bakterien einen wesentliche Einfluss auf die Farbe des <strong>Lake Hillier<\/strong> haben, die sich in der Salzkruste des Sees angesiedelt haben. Wom\u00f6glich haben aber auch salztolerante Algen oder die N\u00e4hrstoffkonzentration im See eine Bedeutung. Middle Island und die anderen rund 103 Inseln des sogenannten Recherche-Archipels sind unter Naturschutz gestellt und d\u00fcrfen nicht betreten werden.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">BirdLife International erkl\u00e4rte den See und seine Umgebung zu einem <strong>Vogelschutzgebiet<\/strong>, da die Region von vielen einheimischen Vogelarten und Zugv\u00f6geln als Rast- und Zufluchtsort genutzt wird.<\/p>\n<h3>Entdeckung des Lake Hillier<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Erstmals Erw\u00e4hnung findet Lake Hillier im Jahr 1802 in den Aufzeichnungen des Forschungsreisenden Matthew Flinders. Flinders wollte sich von der Insel einen \u00dcberblick verschaffen und kletterte daher auf den h\u00f6chsten Gipfel von Middle Island.
